Sat in my car for a while today.  I pushed my seat all the way back staring off into space.  I just sat there and listened to the pitter patter of each rain drop as it hit the hood of my car.  Twenty some odd minutes later I woke up.  For a while there I was able to breathe.

Human Nature

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?” The scorpion says, “Because if I do, I will die too.”



The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp “Why?”


Replies the scorpion: “Its my nature…”
 
Is it naive to expect anything different from people than what comes natural to them?
 
 
By definition Human Nature refers to the distinguishing characteristics, inlcuding ways of thinking, feeling and acting that humans tend to have naturally.
 
And the truth is that our ways of thinking, feeling and acting aren't always admirable.   We tend to hurt ourselves, the people that we love and the people that we hate.  Sometimes we do it unintentionally while other times we do it on purpose.  We are only human, so there is room for error but sometimes  I am just amazed what people are capable of. 
 

Moral of the story:  I don't want to be that scorpion.

Missing

I miss LA.  I miss the bay.  I miss late night drives and midnight beach trips. I miss alot of things these days.
